How we will achieve our goals

FOUR STRATEGIC PILLARS

The strategic pillars of the Pinoy Pride Vancouver Society (PPVS) are designed to guide the organization’s efforts in various areas to ensure its growth, sustainability, and community impact.

Internal Capability & Development

Honoring years of resistance, community care, and growth, this pillar is about grounding the future in the past.

Advocacy, Visibility & Community Engagement

Queerness, curiosity, and care are central to how PPVS shows up.

Sustainable Resourcing

Capacity is power, but so is sovereignty over our resourcing.

Member Experience & Belonging

Community isn’t a fixed identity — it’s a living, evolving practice of connection.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

These principles are essential for the organization as they establish a solid foundation for decision-making, guide behavior, and shape the overall direction of PPVS.

• Documenting stories, histories, and shared values

• Building systems and practices that reflect community-defined safety, care, and accountability

• Investing in leadership that is intergenerational, queer, and deeply rooted in lived experience

• Articulating what PPVS stands for and stands against — in public, policy, and partnership

• Cultivating a clear, consistent, and culturally-rooted presence within and beyond the Filipino community — one that proudly amplifies our distinction as bakla, diasporic, and intergenerational

• Mapping pathways to equal footing with other organizations and building a culture of mutual uplift

• Building sustainable funding paths without compromising values and resisting tokenism

• Cultivating diverse, community-rooted support through grant writing, strategic partnerships, and the generosity of our allies and supporters who believe in our path

• Establishing transparent and accountable systems that honor where our support comes from and how it flows, ensuring ethical stewardship and long-term trust

• Growing membership with intentionality and care, emphasizing relationships over numbers, and trust over reach

• Creating intentional, welcoming, and ritual spaces where all stories are seen and valued

• Organizing meaningful engagement and co-created experiences — events, dialogues, and practices shaped by and for members, reflecting their hopes, needs, and truths
